I have been thinking a lot about how I want our home to look. We have a ton of painting to do, scraping of ceilings, new lighting, and other projects. I am ready for a fresh start. A crisp clean pallet to work from. As much as I love color I feel the need for clean nice white walls in all the main living spaces. I like the idea of adding color with art & furniture. In the bedrooms I'd like to keep it light too. I'm ready for this change. What are your thoughts? Is white too stark or a nice clean pallet to work with?
Summie- I LOVE the idea of white walls and hanging art for color. I always cave in and paint my walls, though. Since you are so artistic you should have no trouble filling your walls with color.!:) Try it out and see what you think. I want to see pictures!:) Lori
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of adding color with accessories...it's what I do also. Nice neutral walls...it opens up spaces and gives you clean lines. You know what to do...good luck getting it done!!!
ReplyDeletei have always been a color girl, but lately have been feeling this very thing! we painted a neutral "tan" in the LR and hallways because i felt it would go with everything and thought white seemed to stark. now i am wishing we had gone with a white or cream as it would feel so much lighter and fresher, i think.
ReplyDeletego for it!
I think white walls make for a fresh look as long as the colors you pull in are BOLD. It makes everything nice and cheery, and then if you feel like a change, you can change out the accessories, which is much easier than painting!
ReplyDeleteHi Summer,
ReplyDeleteI too have been craving the white wall look. I'm slowly converting my rooms to white walls. I really like the freshness of that look. I think you should go for it!
I love the look that you are after, although I would not do it for myself. I don't have one single white wall in my house. Oh, maybe one, lol! I like color, lots of color. Gotta go for it Summer!! Make it what you love!
