Names & A Shop Update

I would like to introduce you to "Little Miss Red Bird"

She is the sister of the cute but shy "Valentine Birdie" (her close friends call her Val)

Their sister "Little Miss Sprinkles" is the queen of ice cream parties

"Benny & June" just tied the knot. I hear they are having a fabulous time setting up the new nest

Benny was a little sad to leave his best friend and brother "Buddy Bird" but it was time for both of them to follow different paths. They still talk at least once a week. SOLD!

Birds of a feather flock together. I think they are a lovely little bunch of birds. If you are interested in giving any of them a home, you can find them here

A Weary Day

Little Zoe working on art. She takes it pretty seriously. This is sort of how I feel. Serious (but hopeful)

I had grand intentions for this day. However grand those intentions may be, family comes first. Today my little Sloan had two Dr. appointments, blood drawn twice, A1C test, and two immunizations. We found that her A1C levels only went up 1/2 a point. I was grateful it wasn't more. Her blood sugars have been running a little higher lately. We will have to hold off on a pump for a few more months, but a pump is the next step. I think most of the tests given and the upcoming tests to be done are for preventative measures. Her pediatrician also found a heart murmur. I have to set up an appointment with a pediatric cardiologist, oh and did I mention she also has to have an MRI to rule out any problems she has been having with her eyes? It's been a little stressful for me lately. I know Sloan is fine, and will be safe and OK. I just need to relax and breath, just for a day or two.

So I will have the shop update by this weekend. I will let everyone know as soon as I do. I also have a really exciting project that I am going to be working on for a fellow blogger. Oh and one last thing, an upcoming auction that I am participating in for a sweet little lady that I think everyone will enjoy meeting. The profits will all go straight to the family to help with their overwhelming medical costs and living expenses. You can follow her story here. If you are interested in donating something to help out with this auction, please email me and I will forward the organizers info to you.

Last but not least, this post was not meant to be a pity party. I just need to keep it real and I need to take a few days to get back in gear. Hope you all have a great Friday. Look forward to posting again this weekend. Hugs to all!

Pizza! Pizza!

Dean made the dough.......and the girls put on the toppings.

Sloan helped with Aris' pizza.

Then the girls sat and watched the pizza's bake.

This was a super fun and easy thing to do with the girls. We can't wait to make pizza this Friday.

I've Been Featured!

I am always so tickled when anyone shows interest in my art. So I was surprised when I opened up my mailbox this morning and my dear friend Suzannah sent me a message. She wanted to let me know she was adding me as the featured Etsy seller of the month on her blog. Zanna has one of the prettiest blogs. Formerly known as Sitting Pretty Studios, she is now the Art Nest. I love all of her photography and she has the cutest tutorials. So run on over and say hello. She's a sweetie and loves visitors. I promise you will be so glad you did.

Who Knew

I wish these pictures had turned out just a little better. They both yelled for me to come and take a picture. So I did. I just wish they would have turned out a little better. I am glad that I captured the moment though. Who knew that the kids would want to sit in the kitchen. Funny little bunnies!

Portrait #2

So I am sorta cheating on this one. Sorta. This is a self portrait I did when I was 18. I figure since I didn't show it to many people this could count as my second portrait. Plus I look so dorky. They make me laugh.

A Little Music

My sketchbook, hard at work.

Music is such a huge part of our lives here at our house. I though since I share the visual part it would be fun to share the musical also. If you like it quiet, feel free to press the pause button to the side. Happy listening and please feel free to let me know your thoughts on the new tunes. Hope everyone has a fabulous Friday.

Me
Cristin here is my first attempt.

Have I told you what an amazing talented photographer my little sister Cristin is? No? Well she is. She's started a new series of self portraits and we have decided it would be fun if I started my own self portrait series. I really don't photograph well, but I thought it would be a fun thing to do anyway. Something we can do together even though we live so far from one another.

Possibly Maybe

A sneaky peaky of the last of the paintings. Maybe. The ideas just keep growing. I never really fancied myself an animal person. Don't get me wrong, I love animals. I just never thought I'd enjoy painting animal themed art. I am having too much fun. When I went to the craft store I went ahead and picked up two larger wooden plaques....... just in case.

Thankfulness

Today I am thankful for oh so many things, but lately I've been especially thankful for these.......my old but new to me kitchen cabinets. Dean demoed a kitchen almost a year ago and the owner of the job he was working on offered him the opportunity to take all the cabs if he wanted them. We were so excited because it has truly saved us at least a few thousand dollars on custom made cabs or store bought ones. Because Dean is so handy and has all the tools needed he has been able to modify the old cabs he was given to fit our kitchen needs. I have been living almost 6 months without upper cabs (except on one wall) and let me tell you....I now feel like the luckiest girl alive. We still have to prime and paint them to match the bottom cabinets, but aren't they lovely?

Crisis Averted

Just finished up this little gal last night. I also prepped the last two plaques for painting tonight.

3 down, 2 to go.

P.S. I was able to fix the red bird girl painting, thank goodness. Thanks for all your sympathy.
