What if......................
My friend Hilary and I talk every day on the phone, she is on my cell phone as one of my five favorites. Our conversations range from very deep conversations about the trials of being a mother and a wife in this complex world that we live in, to the silly and down right goofy. She has three children and is a stay at home mom. Today we touched lightly on the subject of desert islands. It all started when we were discussing a Gillian Welch song (she is a huge fan of her music). If you were deserted somewhere and you could have a complete set of all the artists music to listen to while deserted on this island, who would you pick? You can only pick 5 artists. I have come up with a list, Joni Mitchel, Van Morrison, Miles Davis, Beastie Boys and last but certainly not least Simon and Garfunkel. This was a very hard list for me to compile. I love listening to music and have over 300 Cd's. So picking my five fave was difficult. The five runner ups were Allison Krauss, Steely Dan, Bob Marley, Sublime, and Led Zeppelin.
This got me thinking about what 5 movies would I take if I knew I could only watch those five over and over again. Here they are in no particular order, Family Man, Rushmore, Home for the Holidays, Billy Madison, and Whats up Doc. All of these movies were chosen for the very fact that I have seen them 5+ times and still feel moved by the movie when I am done watching it. This is kind of goofy but fun. Another interesting and inspiring site
Hello, we have encountered another bout of the yuckies at our house again. This time Zoe is suffering all the ailments. Low grade fever, croup like cough and stinky poopy diapers are not very much fun. There are so many people I know who are sick, or on their 2ND round of this mess. I hope everyone feels better soon. It is no fun to feel so lousy.
Last night I didn't get to start on my painting because Zoe needed me to snuggle her up. So while I was sitting there holding her I worked on my blog for a bit and then an idea hit me. Why am I trying to do my work just at night? I felt like maybe I was looking at my time management all wrong. So I am going to try this new schedule for a week or two and see how it goes. I plan on working on painting during the girls nap. During the evening it is so hard to fit creativity in as much as I would like. If time is left to paint or create when the girls go to bed that would be ideal, I just don't want to put off any time I have to work on things. I feel like my life has been filled with "I'll do it later's" and then things never get done. This new schedule will hopefully prevent this from happening.
Before I go I thought I would spotlight a new link I am adding to my blog. I am a huge fan of the magazine Country Living. In this months issue the whole magazine was dedicated to women entrepreneurs. If you don't usually get this magazine I recommend going to the book store to take a peak. It is well worth it, and very inspiring. McMaster and Storm is a store located in Greenville, Ohio. The lovely ladies who own this store were highlighted. They specialize in very unique items for the home and crafter. I wish I lived closer so I could visit this unique store. I hope others will enjoy taking a peek inside the McMaster blog as much as I did.

My little Picasso
Yup, my little Sloan did this drawing. I think even Picasso would be impressed. I am always amazed at how raw and beautiful art done by a child can be. I am trying to update my blog a bit. Please be patient with me. So over the next few days I will be adding and taking things away. Feel free to comment on things. I am always willing to listen to constructive criticism.

This is the up close shot of the painting. The only bummer is the gold leafing looks super dull when I scan my work.Time to start another painting. I will prep for my next piece tonight. Look for some pictures of the girls, I plan on taking some photos of them tonight.
