Cool Hand Luke

I went to the mailbox today and this is what I found, front and center of our little local newspaper. Cool Hand Luke is the band of Lucas Stephenson, bassist Cyril Beatty, and drummer Jesse Moran. I haven't ever heard them play but I am sure they put on a fun show. Lucas was born with only one hand. That hasn't stopped him from following any of his dreams or aspirations. He is a real inspiration. Lucas is married to Merridy, Merridy is the sister of Derek Young. Michelle is Derek's wife. Michelle is a dear friend of mine, a wonderful seamstress, artist, and blogger of Michelle Young Designs.  Have I lost you yet? Anyway Michelle this one is for you. I will be sending this your way in the mail this week. Hope you guys enjoy.

Gallery Nucleus

VerMar's Lonesome Narwhal

Gallery Nucleus is located in Alhambra, California on East Main Street. Although I have never been to this gallery my hope is to one day pay a visit. They have some really great shows and amazing artists who frequent the gallery. The show runs from July 12th through the 28th. Opening reception is July 12th from 7pm- 11pm. If you are in the area and able to attend, let me know what you think of the show.

So hot

Aris and her new baby. Grandma Cindy sent me a lovely gift certificate to EBay and I bought Aris her very own dolly with the gift card. She loves it.

Sloan set up this little "home" on the sofa. It was fun to watch them play.

Here they are. More pictures from the fountain. We go here twice a week and it is a fun much needed break from the heat.

It has been so hot this week. I just haven't felt like doing much. I have however taken a nap everyday this week with little Zoezzers. This heat just sucks the life right out of you. Today everyone reached their breaking point. The girls were grumpy and irritable, nothing made them happy. Sloan was so upset about how horrible her life was today, she earned an early bedtime @ 7:30. She feel asleep just a few minutes later. Then there is all this smoke coming from the fires in California. The smoke had cleared but came back in full force yesterday. It looks overcast like it is going to rain, but it's just smoke. We can't even see the mountains, that's how thick the smoke is. Crazy. I do hope you enjoy the pictures I posted above. Despite the smoke and heat I am still trying to have some fun with the girls.
