The Color of Life

"In our life there is a single color, as on an artist's palette,
which provides the meaning of life and art. It is the color of love."
-Marc Chagall

::Torn from one of my favorite magazines, can you tell I've carried it around for awhile? Someday this quote will hang in my home.

Red Bird Girl

Here she is! Little Red Bird Girl. I wish my brain was creative enough to think of a cute name.... I am just too tired tonight. Plus I have the last four paintings in the series to finish this week. Maybe then I will have a better name for her. We will see. Well I am off to get the girls into bed, fold some laundry, watch some Hero's, paint, and snuggle up the sweetest man on this earth. My Dean. Sigh. I just adore him. It's freezing here and I can't think of a better thing to do on a cold night. So, lot's to do before I hit the hay. Hope to have another one of these to show you tomorrow night. When I am done with all of the series they will be making their way to my etsy shop. It's about time I put some new stuff in there don't ya think? Hope everyone has a lovely evening.

Movie and a Painting

Would like to watch this.........

now that I've seen this.

Dean and I watched this movie last night and thought it was pretty funny. I always have to drag Dean kicking and screaming to get on board a chick flick (not for real, but he likes to tease me about them) always relenting in the end and most usually enjoying what we watch. The movie is a story about relationships, friendships and love. I knew it was the remake of an older film and now I look forward to seeing the original. I am guessing they are quite a bit different. It's not a world changing film by any means, but a fun film no less. I would watch it again later on down the road. How could you not like a film with Meg Ryan in it? Or Bette Middler for that fact (love her!).

While we watched the movie I started this little painting. It is the first in a series of 5 birdie girls paintings I will be working on over the next week. Our house is just too crazy at the moment to sew. I am not complaining. It was so nice to wake up this morning to a kitchen with walls that were almost uniform in color, and texture. I have a big smile on my face right now. Dean is even working on painting the few upper cabs we have in the garage today. The smile on my face just got bigger. That would be so nice, we have been functioning with the use of three cabinets for months now. He even said he is going to try to finish the tile. If my smile gets any bigger, well my face just might break. So, off to bathe my little mermaids and get us ready for church on time. Sloan has a talk to give in primary. About why family is important to heavenly father and to her. We sat down last night and she wrote it herself. It is short and sweet and to the point. Zoe was asked to give the opening prayer. Zoe is super excited about this. It should be fun. Hope everyone is having a wonderful Sunday!

Saturday Sketches

Found via Internet

I found this image a few weeks back on the Internet. Aren't those clothes just adorable?Do you see the prices? I wish I could find clothes this cute for my girls at those prices. I have had a busy Saturday. A church activity for the girls and Abby's birthday party this afternoon have left me kind of tired. A busy but good day. It's been very cold and overcast all day today. The weather reminds me a lot of Oregon weather. I love this kind of weather. Makes me want to eat soup for lunch and snuggle up under a blanket while I watch old movies. I will settle for toasty socks, a pencil and a sketchbook instead of a movie. I have so many ideas I want to do and I find myself with less and less time to do them. Three kids are just keeping me running full speed lately. So slowly but surely I hope to get all these ideas down on paper.

Swings and Progress

Dean surprised the girls with this swing.

Even though it was freezing cold and raining outside, they just couldn't help themselves. I do so look forward to warmer (not hotter) days. Dean took a huge load of scraps from the remodel to the dump today. If anyone has ever seen or been to our house, we have a very embarrassing pile of junk behind our garage. All the remnants of the many home projects Dean has worked so hard on. I have made a few subtle hints lately about how much it drives me crazy. What a guy he didn't have to work today because they are waiting for the tile to come in for a job he's working on. So he stayed home and mudded the walls one more time, cleaned up the junk pile, and tonight he did this......................

What's this? A hopper. What does it do you ask?

This....texture........finally!
