I am really having a hard time getting into the holiday spirit this year. What is my deal? Is there anyone else who is dealing with this dilemma? Where are you Christmas & why can't I find you?
You've had a lot of sick! That doesn't help :) We've enjoyed all the old Christmas movies on tv - it seems to be helping :) Listening to my girls chatter away always help me get a little more excited.
Hey, when I was a kid, my dad had us vote on a unique tree (the real reason=no $$). We took fishing line and rigged up lights and ornaments on our invisible tree...this is one of my favorite memories. Give away something, even a bowl of oranges, and maybe you will feel it?? Love reading your blog.
It can be tough sometimes to get into the "holiday spirit" ... I think we have a bad habit of forcing ourselves when we don't feel like it (I always feel like Christmas in July, myself). My favorite holiday "perk-me-up" is sitting in the dark and admiring the Christmas tree all lit up ... and the "Christmas lights drive" through the neighborhoods sometimes helps, too. I hope you find the answer and have a very merry Christmas!
oh my. i had a terrible time feeling christmasy at all until this past week. i must admit, the tree did help. i am really only just now getting excited about the whole season. had a little party at church last night for the kids and it was SO STRESSFUL getting them out the door and home that felt like why did we bother! but THEY are awfully excited and i think it is a bit contagious. we drove around last night with the kids and looked at lights and it was really fun to see. oh, i hope you can feel it soon!
I'm lagging behind in the Christmas spirit myself! I'm putting on a game face though. It's hard to be "into" it all of the time, but I think it is worth the effort. I keep thinking if I fake it, maybe I'll find it?
Trish
p.s. I'm having a giveaway on my blog! I've been lucky enough to win some great giveaways lately, so I'm paying it forward. Stop by; winning a treat couldn't hurt!!

Boston ruined Christmas for me! Yeaah!
I was just telling Jeff last night, this doesn't feel like Christmas time -
If I find it, I'll send it your way!

I think next year no matter what, we will get a Christmas tree. It just doesn't seem like Christmas without one.
