I painted this for Zoe.
And this for Sloan.
Not sure if I will keep all of these in the frames. For now they will work. I finished this painting last night, just had to put on the gold leafing. However prepping the glass took over an hour of wiping and scraping to get it to look clean. I found the pair of frames at a yard sale. I am guessing they are from the 60's or 70's? The art work in each frame was glued to the glass. I had to soak the glass for a couple day's in a row before all the paper and glue came off. I think it was worth all the work. It's convex glass. I think it adds to the whimsy of the painting. Then I sprayed all the frames with black paint.
It will hang next to this painting, eventually. Soon I will start the painting for Aris. Where it will hang on the other side of Sloan's painting. Someday when they marry (even though Zoe is convinced she's marrying her daddy) I will give each of them their paintings. Hopefully by then I will have painted them other things, and made them quilts and dolls that they can pack up until they have children of their own. For now this is my start. Please, oh please, don't let this happen faster than it has too. Don't grow up too fast my sweet little girls.
