Last, but certainly not least........La Jolla

We came here the very last day of our visit. We left the lovely breezy beach and drove home to our cold and dreary Nevada. It's hard to go from that much green to lots of dead tree's. I love Nevada, don't get me wrong. It's just a different kind of beauty here. I told Dean that when we go back to San Diego in December I want to spend a day at the beach. This whole trip was such a special time for all of us. It reminded me how much fun it was to have family around. I am so very blessed to have Dean and his family in my life. This was truly a most wonderful Thanksgiving.

Our Day out

The architecture is amazing

This is a sculpture of Wednesday's castle. Wednesday is a fairy I think. This entire sculpture was made of things found in nature. You can't see them but there were these exquisite little fairies and a n amazing dragon. So very awesome.

One of the galleries in the San Diego Museum, we were told it was OK to take pictures. This old lady docent almost kicked my but after I took this picture. I seriously almost panicked, like I was a kid being caught doing something I wasn't supposed to. So this is why there are no more photo's of the "inside" of the museum.

A reflecting pool

Some children's costume hat's from China

This was a mixed media quilt. It was one of my favorite thing's aside from the Wednesday's castle sculpture.

This was such a fun day. Dean and I were able to go out for the day while his mom watched Zoe and Sloan. We had a blast. I can't wait to visit the museums again when we visit at Christmas

The Rancho Bernardo Fires

Every house around this house burnt down. This house was totally untouched by the fire. See the picture below.

This was a very humbling experience to see these homes. We take so much for granted. It is crazy how fast it can all be taken away. I had the honor of meeting one of the families that lost their home during the fire. They go to church with Cindy and Eric. The church family hosted a "pounding" party. Everyone was encouraged to bring a pound of something to stock the kitchen. I thought that was a neat idea. Cindy has also started a website for the families who lost a home in the fires. It is www.rebuildrb.com. The donations collected go strait to the families.

San Diego Wild Animal Park

The natives were restless

Uncle Ben and Sloanie Balonie

The petting zoo

The fires came so close to the animals. This is the right side of the animal park.

Eric, Ben, and Aris

This was a balloon that you could go up in for $20. From the balloon you could see the whole animal park and parts of San Diego. $20 was toooooo much if you ask me.

Who lives in a pineapple under the sea?

Which came first, the Sloanie or the egg?

We all took a spin on the carousel, it was so much fun.
Zoe was scared the first time around. After the second time we couldn't get her off of the ride.

Eric goofing off

This was an awesome day.
