Afternoon sketch time

Aris has become my little desk mate. She is at that baby point where you can put a basket of toys in front of her and it keeps her entertained for quite a while. This is great for me. I am able to accomplish a little more when she is awake. As long as someone is near her while she is playing she is so happy.

Little elephant for the auction.

Little whale for the auction.

My little desk partner!

What a ham!

I was stuck when it came to ideas for the auction. I knew I wanted to do mostly animals, I just couldn't figure out what animals I wanted to do. I was getting ready for the day this morning and I got some ideas. The rest of the day will be filled with kids, art and hubby time. I will post some pictures of the progress later.

Some naked little biscuits!

I am in the middle of our day and I couldn't help myself I had to post this picture of Zoe. Beware, there is some nudity involved. I went to change her diaper and she decided she wanted to put on her boots and cook in the kitchen, without her diaper. I just had to take a picture, it was way too cute.

Well back to work. Hope everyone is having a lovely day.

Another busy week ahead

I have a ton to do over the next few days. I will be posting as much as possible, however my posts may be a little shorter than usual. I will probably be posting a ton of photo's to tell about our day's just because.

Dean and I have worked on cleaning all weekend long. Dean worked in the yard, I worked in the house. We are trying to get things going on the remodel again. Plus we just found out Cindy, Eric and Jen are coming to visit on Friday. I love it when any of Dean's family comes to visit. It helps me to not miss my family back in Florida so much. We want the house to be clean and tidy when everyone visits. Dean and I always talk about how we wish we had all the money we needed to finish all the work around our house. We are always doing things as we have the funds. We don't want to go into debt, so we can fix up everything now. Things would get done way faster if we were rich! (smile) Oh well, even though we are not rich we have a lot of happiness in our little family.

Enough about $, I will leave you with a picture of the work area from the next 3 project I am working on. Take care everyone.

Fun Fort Friday

Sloan set up this fort for her and Zoe on Friday. Sloan has become quite the mavric of fun ideas lately. They played in the fort the whole day. Zoe loved this. When Abby came over the fort was taken over by the girls, no Zoe allowed. Poor Zoe she was super sad.
Sorry it has taken me so long to get all of these photos posted, it's just been a crazy week. I need way more sleep, and a few more minutes with my hubby than I have been able to have. Hopefully this coming week will prove to be a little less hectic.

Recap of last week in pictures

Friday: Napping Aris

Saturday: Nakie Aris throwing down some love!

Very first dentist appointment

Sloan went to her first dentist appointment today. She was terrified, but did a great job. No cavities and her mouth looks great. I guess all the years of me brushing her teeth has paid off. Wednesday she is going back to get her molars sealed. Little Zoe was very concerned the whole time "Sissy" was in the big room getting her teeth cleaned. We were able to sit in a room with a window and watch while Sloan was in getting her teeth cleaned. Sloan cried until she realized everything was going to be OK. Bless her little heart. The dentist was super nice and all the staff was super kind to her.
During the afternoon Clair & Penny came over and all the kids played. Nate and Charlotte came over to play also. I think all the kids had a very fun time, and it was fun to visit with Clair. She has two more months until her due date. If you asked her she would probably tell you she would be happy to have the baby sooner than later. She has reached the "I'm done with this" stage.
Sloan, Popeye and me all went to run and get video's. We also went on a Target run. It was fun to spend some special time with my little Sloan. We had fun and tomorrow I think we will be playing some exciting games of Memory Match.
It is getting late and I need to get some much needed sleep. Tomorrow I will post all the photo's I keep promising and and a super cute video of Sloan and Popeye.

Here she is.........Little Miss Katie Turtle

I finished her on Saturday, it just took me a while to post the pictures. I got a call from little Katie yesterday and she said she really liked her new picture. Word on the street is her brothers nickname is squirrel. TJ is so adorable, I guess they were calling him pork chop, now its squirrel. I will be doing a TJ squirrel in the very near future. Justin and Dean have been friends for a very long time. A lot of times you get married and your husbands friends are nice but the wife isn't. That is not the case here. Liz is so sweet and you couldn't ask for a sweeter family.

Twinkle Twinkle

This is Zoe favorite song, however she pronounces it "Tinkle tinkle".

Laughing Dozers

Go Charlotte

Hillary's daughter is Charlotte. Zoe absolutely adores Charlotte and talks about her all the time. She is always asking where Charlotte is. When she sang this song I had to tape it.

Sleepy Dozers

A much needed nap

We just got home from a birthday party for Zoe' friend Mila. The Fishers are a family we go to church with and Mila is their daughter. It was a cute party and the food was delicious! Before the party the girls and I ran a few errands to drop off things for the upcoming auction. It is fast approaching, and I still have a few things to finish for it. I want to give a big thank you to all who have taken time from their busy schedule to donate goods or services for this upcoming event. I will be posting pictures from the event in late April. Thank you all so much.
I still have all the videos and the new photos to post however the opportunity for a nap has presented itself and I am going to take one. I will post everything this evening.

A hint of home

(I like to add cut up bacon also)

This is one of my favorite recipe's to make. My Aunt Paula used to make this for family get togethers when I lived back in Florida. Hers tastes better than mine, however every time I make this salad it tastes better than the time before. Each time I make this it is gone super fast. Dean even likes it, and he doesn't really care for potato salad at all. I always think of my family back in Florida but holidays really make me miss everyone tons. Little things like this are happy reminders of family. I am grateful to have so many great memories of family I can think about on holidays without them.

Easter pictures

Zoe' basket

My two little Easter bunnies!

Sloan's basket

Sloan's My little Ponies that the Bunny brought in her basket.

Zoe with her "Melmo" crayon bag.

Sloan's Magic Tree House book and sketch book that the Bunny put in her basket.

The girls coloring with Zoe new tub crayons that the Bunny put in her basket.

Aris and Dean slept through all the festivities. It's OK because Aris doesn't even know what Easter is and Dean needed the sleep. Hope you enjoy the last of the Easter pics!

Money!

Sloan made this for me a few days back. She said, "Now you can go buy some stuff!" If only it was that easy.

Artist of the week: Eren Blanquet Unten

I got quite a bit of computer time in this week. There wasn't much else to do. I needed to be ready to grab the barf bucket for Zoe at any time. I found the really great blog of artist Eren Blanquet Unten. I have always been a huge fan of vintage illustration art from the good ol' days (the days when my mom and dad were little) Sorry guys. Erin's art is so colorful and whimsical and totally reminds me of the illustration's from the good ol' day's. If you have a few moments, take a peek at her blog. It will be a real treat. You can find her blog under my links I like.

Ready for spring

If I have said it once I will say it again, I am soooooooo ready for spring. Don't get me wrong, I love the winter and fall but I am sooooooooo ready to get outside more with the girls. I am also hoping that with the warming weather we can have a break from all this sickness that keeps visiting our home. So far Zoe hasn't thrown up since yesterday. Thank goodness. Our washing machine needed a break. I will admit I do too. I have had my fill of barf patrol.

Come one, come all! To the cutest carnival on earth!

The sign says, "Pull egg out, three tickets, under 30 or 60 can do this."

This sign says, "Catch balloons, 40 and under can do this."

Here is the "balloon catch" game. Sloan put the balloon over the fan and the air coming out of the fan kept it in place. The point of the game was for Zoe to catch the balloon as it floated in the air.

The carnival tickets.

Sign reads, "Carnival this one of tickets are 9 tickets, tickets four each ride or food." We need to work on her grammar skills a bit. This sign was on her door to welcome and inform everyone who came to the carnival.

This was the "Squirt the water game". Zoe loved this one.

Zoe trying to catch the balloon.

Sloan created this little carnival for Zoe because she knew she wasn't feeling well. It was the cutest thing ever. All the games were geared to Zoe. Zoe and Sloan played them all day long. I am not kidding you on this part. Sloan is such an imaginative little girl. It is fun to see what she can do when I don't put boundaries on her creativity. This is one of those "moments" from life I will always hold dear to my heart. If you could have been in our home today, you would understand why my heart is so happy. I sure do love my little family.

Why I'm not laughing

Not funny, not funny at all. I just finished cleaning up barf for the second time in one week. No laughing here.

Hello old friend!

Ahhhh yes! My old friend paint. I love painting almost more than anything else. There is something so gratifying about a completely blank surface, and turning it into something beautiful. This is just the first layer of many. It is hard for me to justify painting at this point in my life. Sometimes I can finish a painting this size in just a few days. Other times it takes me weeks. Our home is small, we are remodeling and I have three little ones that need a lot of attention. Sometimes I just have to paint in spite of it all. This is one of those times. I will keep you all posted on the progress of this piece. I am a little rusty......so be patient.
