I think I speak for all of us. It is one of our most favorite times of the day.

A little nervous about this. Today I had my very first photo shoot. I'm pretty used to taking pictures of my own little ones. It was a little different with Justice. Thankfully he was a super good sport about the whole thing. Isn't he the cutest baby? I need to work on my attention getting skills. My shutter speed is so slow on this camera. Quite a few times I had his attention and by the time I snapped the picture the moment had passed. It was a good learning experience for me. I realize I have a lot to learn. Out of over 200 photos taken, only a handful turned out. I also realized I need a better camera so very badly. Not that I am complaining. I'm grateful to even have a camera. I realize that there are certain things my little Fuji 5.2 Finepix digital camera just won't ever be able to do. I really hope I can get better and better at photography. I hope his mommy is happy with the photos.

these are just a few of the things I hope to work on this weekend.
& a little sneak peak at a the newest paper illustration for a special some one's blog. I have to make sure I can reveal it when I do a post about their website, hopefully early next week.
Also have a special project in the works with my dear friend (like a sister) Susannah from Art Nest. We will be hosting a big reveal in the next week. Happy Friday everyone. Hope you all are able to enjoy the outdoors & a little of the indoors also. Oh, & don't forget to enjoy the company of those who mean the most to you also.

Super excited because I woke up to a lovely email from Lyynsey of the really cute blog Cuteable, saying she had featured my owl illustration on her blog. It totally made my day. Her blog is so neat. She features all sorts of "cute" from Etsy artists on her site. You can find her blog here.

In case you haven't heard that they have made one of my favorite books of all times into a movie. Maurice Sendak also happens to be my very favorite illustrator. I can hardly wait for this movie to come to theaters. This movie is going to be amazing. I just know it.

All the photo's above were taken by my sister Cristin & her sweetie Chris on her latest trip to Boston. I love my little sister soooooo much! She is a very talented artist & photographer. I really hope she keeps up with it all & follows her dreams of pursuing an art major.
I have so many projects to finish up today and tomorrow. I promised the girls:: I would take them to the library, Dean:: I'd fix dinner, myself:: I'd finish this art project I am working on. Too many things to do. Too many things I want to work on. Just not enough hours in the day. If I had enough energy to create and make all that I really wanted to paint, sew, & make....my days would never end. I should do an illustration about my problem of too many ideas & not enough time. I'm not even accounting for all my shortcomings of being a wife & mother. That painting would take up a whole block. Oh my. Well, off to put kids down for a nap, fold laundry & work on the artsy stuff. Enjoy your Tuesday!

I went to take pictures of "First Flight" & realized the painting was all wrong. I almost tossed it in my "didn't quite work out the way I wanted it to" pile. I decided if I didn't fix it now I never would. I realized I was happy with the painting itself, the edges, not so much. The edges were too dark for the rest of the piece. So I am in the process of reworking them. I will still be adding the black. Only as a scalloped edge. Hopefully it will look like the vision in my head.
We shall see.
Picked out the ribbon for the painting. All I need now is the label & a wall hook.
Next couple of projects will be made with all my yummy papers. I'm hoping to share the awesome project I'm working on now very soon.
Dean started our seedlings just a few days ago. Look how cute they are! Can't wait for it to be a little warmer so we can put these in our garden................
& see more of these little knees. Zoe asked specifically that I take this picture. She is my little dirt loving kid. If she had her way she would play in the dirt from sun up to sundown. In the right boot, a little shovel. In the left boot, a rock. I kid you not. I asked her why, she said she was saving that rock for later.
I'll be using this in our dinner tonight. I'm making my GG's Zucchini Parmesan. It is sooo yummy. Gotta go and get started on dinner. All that amazing spring weather was such a teaser. It snowed off & on all day yesterday. Today has been too cold to do much of anything now that all my little ones (including me) have some sort of nostril issue. Looking forward to some warmer days right around the corner. Hope you all have had a happy Monday.
P.S. Take a peak here for some cheerful Monday goodness!

I really can't get enough of this sunshine. Seriously. I come home after picking the girls up from school and we park ourselves outside for the rest of the afternoon. Well, the girls play, I start dinner and then I join them from time to time. I leave the door open because the fresh warm air feels too yummy.
I can't get enough of this! It is fascinating to watch these tiny little people interact with one another. To watch how their sibling relationships are growing and evolving on a daily basis. The squabbling, the squibbling, and wrestling matches (yes they wrestle more than boys I think!) However most days are filled with many more moments of kindness than anything else.
