Rest stop fun

Sloanie!

Zoe did this all by herself, just like big sis.

Me and Meris.

Anyone who has kids knows that when you are traveling with kids you have to take pit stops and at least one break where the kids can run around and play. This was that stop. There was a Carl's Jr. right by this lovely little park. The girls had fun and it was nice to take a break from driving.

San Diego or bust! Christmas style.

Locked and loaded and ready to go

There was quite a bit of snow in the mountains, but not too much on the road.

Dean our fearless leader!

Well here we go again. I am not going to add too much journaling to my past photos. Just some comments on main events, that way I can get all the photos up quickly.

New years promises

I posted this picture as a "before", picture so I have a reminder of how I looked when I started my resolution. I was going to dress up in a swim suit and take a picture to put on my blog. I figured if I embarrassed myself enough I definitely wouldn't give up. However, I didn't want to permanently scar everyone. So I will save the bathing suit for the "after", picture.

I Summer Swanson, being somewhat of sound mind and soggy out of shape body, do solemnly swear to hold up my end of my New year promises. I also promise not to give up if I have "one" bad day. I promise to just "keep trucking" no matter what, to keep living each day to the fullest and to always go to bed at the end of the day knowing in my heart that I have lived my day to the fullest, and loved my family and friends to the fullest.

1. Be a better wife and mother.

2. Write in my blog, it's my online journal, everyday.

3. Go to church every Sunday (unless ill).

4. Read scriptures daily.

5. Art, Art, Art. That is after all why I started this blog in the first place.

6. To compose a full body of work to present to fellow artist friends to critique and review, to ultimately get into some kind of show, this time next year in a major gallery.

7. To run again and by the end of the year compete in some kind of run.

8. Get healthy, if I can do this I know I will feel better about the other things.

9. Serve others more with my talents and time.

10. No excuses
PS. Please leave comments and feedback. I am changing some settings so everyone can leave comments without joining this site.

Happy belated New Year

Cristin

I hope everyone had a most lovely and happy holiday. We sure had a blast in San Diego. It was very hard to leave. Once again I realized why its so important to live near family. There isn't much that is more important than family. We had a safe drive home and today will be a day of getting back into the swing of old routines. The girls are on a crazy sleeping schedule. I am sick, I have a super sore throat, and that ache in your head feeling. Plus I couldn't go back to sleep because Cristin is flying out to school. College! I feel so old. My little Cristin! She is having a hard time leaving all her friends and comforts of home, however when she gets out to school I know she will have a total blast.

Today will be a day of catch up, so look for many blog updates throughout the day.

Christmas Card

Merry Christmas!

This is our Christmas photo for 2007. Notice how all the kids are looking in a different direction? That's OK. We have other years to get the "perfect" Christmas card photo. Instead of sending a bunch of late Christmas Cards, this is my tacky attempt to say Merry Christmas to all the many people I love and adore.
