A few minutes to myself

Just a little sketch I started tonight. Will work on it some more tomorrow.

Stressed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So I have decided that what I have done with this painting/art/creative goal is just set myself up for failure. Unless Dean wins the lottery and we can afford a nanny or a house keeper, I am having a really hard time fitting in all that I want to do with all that I need to do. No I am not giving up. I just have to realize that sometimes having three kids means my day has only a few minutes for the things that I want to do. So no more deadlines or putting pressure on myself if one night I am unable to do my art for as long as I would like. If my kids need me, well they come first. Today is one of those days. So I am all stressed out because I feel this pressure to create. I have been monster mommy tonight. That is not the kind of mom I want to be. It is early. Popeye is still up so I am going to get down on the floor and play with her for a while. Before I go I'm adding a few photo's, enjoy!

Progress

Well folks I finally had a chance to sketch. No painting today. However I was able to spend a lot of time with little people today. I was able to watch my neighbors daughter, and at one point I am not kidding you all three little ones were crying. I fed Aris so she would go back to sleep, then picked up unhappy Haylie and took her with me to get sad little Dozers up. Although Zoe never went back to sleep (she woke up because of a poopy diaper) little Haylie fell asleep after I fed her some of her bottle. All the fussing made Zoe a little insicure so she just wanted me to hold her. When I picked Sloan up from school she was so angry and rude. Yes my daughter can be a real little monster sometimes. I had her test her sugar and I honestly thought her sugar level was going to be like 500 the way she was acting to me and everyone else. Nope. Sugar level was almost perfect. So she was just having major attitude problems. I adore my Sloan but she makes life so hard on herself sometimes. Even though I got Dozers and Sloan into bed by 8, Aris decided to scream bloody murder ever time I tried to put her to bed until almost 10. I will be honest, I sometimes feel on days like these that I am a horrible mommy. I love all my little pumpkins, but this was a very challenging day for me.
I did however manage to sketch once everyone went to sleep. It is a rough sketch for a painting. I really hope tomorrow can be a happier day for all my little ones. Until then, sleep well.

My attempt at painting

Sloan's puppet girl.

Makayla came over for a visit. The girls always have so much fun together.

There was a patch of ice by the garage that the girls found and they had so much fun sliding around on it.

Kisses!

You would have thought I had never painted a day in my life if you were a fly on the wall last night. The day was definitely working against me. Both girls got into bed late. Then when I finally got started painting it was a disaster. I kept having to remind myself that its been a while. I didn't expect a masterpiece, just a little more than what I did last night. This is going to be a good lesson for me. Keep working or it just gets harder. I am happy with the fact that I painted for almost two hours. Think of all that I could accomplish if I took two hours a day and worked on art.
I am adding a few pics from the weekend and a little paper doll that Sloan drew yesterday.

A few photos before I sleep

This is Zoe's favorite thing to do now. She always takes her socks and shoes off and then puts her socks on her hands.

Sloan and Abby playing mommy with little Aris.

Zoe eating a little garlic roasted hummus with daddy.

I have to say that my throat is still quite sore, but I am feeling so much better than I have. I tried to download these photo's last night but for some reason I wasn't able to. Today was a perfect day. Popeye woke Dean and I up around 7:30 am. Then little Sloan and Zoe joined us a few minutes later. We all just talked and laughed for awhile and then Dean got out of bed and fixed us breakfast. How lucky are we? Makayla came over around two and we were able to visit with Erin and Amber for a bit while Erin tried to fix our printer. Dean took Sloan and Makayla to see a movie while I played with Aris and Zoe. Then Dean fixed a most yummy dinner of orange chicken with rice. The girls were dancing and playing after dinner until Makayla had to go home. I was also able to get a ton or organizing done once the girls went to bed.

This has been one of those really special days. I put a few new links on my blog today. If you have a few minutes on any given day, take some time to look at the links. Not all will be for everyone. All are filled with creative ideas and tons of talent. Tomorrow I will be starting my, "painting a day" series.
